Badgers Lose To Maryland 73-55, Have Dropped 5 Of Last 6 Games

The Wisconsin Badgers have hit the midseason blues, dropping five of their last six games now after a 73-55 loss against the Maryland Terrapins.

The Badgers started off hot, making seven of their first eight shots and keeping pace with Maryland. But Wisconsin couldn't take advantage of several scoring droughts from the Terrapins, including a seven minute stretch in the first half where the Badgers only scored four points and held on to just a small lead.

Maryland took a four point lead into halftime but they were able to expand it quickly in the second half. The Terrapins went on a 17-8 run to start the half and stretched out to a double digit lead quickly. The closest Wisconsin would get the rest of the way would be within seven points.

Connor Essegian had a career night with 19 points, including going 4-6 from beyond the arc. Tyler Wahl had 13 points while Steven Crowl added 11. Chucky Hepburn and Jordan Davis had just three points each. Carter Gilmore added six points from the bench.

Wisconsin will be excited to return home but they will face their third game of the week when they take on the Illinois Fighting Illini on Saturday afternoon.
