Packers Cruise To Easy 24-10 Victory Over Washington

The Green Bay Packers are rolling, winning their sixth straight game in a row and improving to 6-1 on the regular season with a 24-10 victory over the Washington Football Team.

Green Bay got the scoring started early, getting a touchdown on the opening drive on 4th and 3 with a 17 yard pass to Davante Adams. The opening drive took 13 plays and went 75 yards, eating up 7:49 of clock. But Washington would answer right back with a touchdown of their own on a 40 yard pass from Taylor Heinicke to Terry McLaurin.

In the second quarter, both teams traded blocked field goal attempts. The Packers' TJ Slayton blocked a 42 yard field goal attempt from Washington's Chris Blewitt and on the ensuing possession Mason Crosby's 34 yard field goal attempt was blocked by Washington's Tim Settle.

In the 2 minute drill, Aaron Rodgers drove the Packers down the field, finishing the 9 play, 72 yard drive with a 10 yard touchdown pass to Allen Lazard to take a 14-7 lead before the half.

To start the second half, Rashan Gary forced a fumble from Taylor Heinicke, which landed right into the arms of Dean Lowry. With the Packers offense working with a short field, Green Bay was in the endzone three plays later on a 20 yard pass to tight end Robert Tonyan, which gave the Packers a 21-7 lead.

Aaron Rodgers finished the day with 27 completions on 35 attempts for 274 yards and three TDs. Aaron Jones had a quiet day with just six rushes for 19 yards. Davante Adams, unsurprisingly, led the receiver group with 6 catches for 76 yards and a TD.

Defensively, DeVondre Campbell led the way in tackles with 13. Rashan Gary had two sacks and four QB hits on Heinicke. Chandon Sullivan added four solo tackles, a pass defensed, and an interception.

The Packers have a short week of rest this week. Their next game is Thursday night on the road against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals.
