Packers announce no fans allowed at Lambeau Field 'indefinitely'

With the pandemic growing in Wisconsin and across the nation, it has been nearly a year since fans have been allowed in to NFL or college football games in the state, and for now, that will continue.

On Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers announced no fans would be allowed in to games at Lambeau Field indefinitely, citing coronavirus concerns in Green Bay and across Wisconsin.

Statues of Vince Lombardi, Curly Lambeau, and other fixtures around Lambeau Field were adorned with masks in an effort to raise awareness of coronavirus spread mitigation efforts by local and statewide health officials. The masks were added Thursday morning.

In the Packers' statement, Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy also called for social distancing and other mitigation efforts for fans taking in the game at home, and to limit the size of gatherings.
