It has been just under two years since Chris Harrison, former longtime host of ABC's The Bachelor, faced massive backlash for a comment he made during an Extra interview with a former franchise lead. Since then, Harrison has watched an endless entertainment media cycle mercilessly picking him apart personally and professionally.

Now, the 51-year old is doing what he wishes he would have done at the beginning, telling his side of the story. With the help of iHeartMedia, The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever with Chris Harrison launched January 9 and gives listeners an exclusive into the events surrounding Harrison’s departure, straight from his own lips.

“If I had a regret, it would be that I didn’t do this. That I didn’t just come to you (the fans) in the first place,” he said. “I was heartbroken. I was gutted. I was embarrassed. I was mad at myself, I was disappointed in myself. The last thing in the world I ever wanted to do was to be an agent of anything negative.”

The former host described how unscheduled weight loss, sleep deprivation, and fear became a part of his daily routine following the interview. Harrison told listeners that no one was able to help him navigate the firestorm swirling around him, and it left him feeling robbed of his voice.

“I have not spoken publicly since I left The Bachelor franchise. I have not made one comment,” he said. “Which might be hard to believe considering how much was written, said, podcasted- if that’s actually a word- about me, but very little of it, actually none of it, came from me. It was everybody else talking.”

Harrison described how some in The Bachelor franchise pounced during the backlash. Several went on podcasts or did TV interviews where they talked about him extensively. Meanwhile, others immediately began calling ABC to put their name forward to be the new host for reality television’s biggest dating show.

“There was blood in the water,” said Harrison. “I am sure there are a lot of people, well a few people, who are sitting in Hollywood right now, nervous as hell that I am doing a podcast. And I guess I would say to those people, ‘If you’re nervous, maybe you should be, because you probably know that I know.”

It’s Time We Talk” and “It’s Time We Talk (part 2) with Lauren Zima” are the first two episodes of Harrison’s new podcast.
