Day Care Worker Puts Fat Shaming Note In Five-Year-Old's Lunchbox

A Texas day care worker who fat-shamed a five-year-old boy has been fired. The boy's mother, Francesca Easdon, said that she put a note in her son's lunchbox asking his teacher to tell her son that she loves him and was thinking about him.

“Please tell Kyler that his mommy loves him so much, and I’m thinking about him,” the note said.

When her son returned home, she was shocked to find that one of the workers had added their own message to the bottom of her note.

“No! Put him on a diet and go away,” the teacher wrote.

Easdon shared a photo of the edited note on Facebook.

“We have been working with Kyler on his eating, he’s extremely picky! I have been introducing new healthy options in his lunchbox and discussed the changes with his school," she wrote. "And for the record, I feel that Kyler is perfect the way he is, I’m just helping him make healthier choices. Instead of his school being supportive I am in absolute shock at what happened.”

She immediately contacted the day center and set up a meeting with the director.

“When I asked them what are you planning to do about this… I let them know right then that the only resolution is that that person that wrote the note should be terminated,” Easdon told KTRK.

The teacher who wrote the comment came forward and was terminated for their actions. While Easdon was happy that the teacher was fired, she felt that officials showed no remorse for the situation. She decided to pull her son out of the day care center and enrolled him at one that is more expensive.

"I am disgusted that I put my trust in these people to care for my child, and this is what I get in return. I have removed Kyler from this daycare (Rocking Horse Kingwood) and am enrolling him in a beautiful new facility. I’m worried about the higher cost, but I will make it work, no matter what I have to do. "
