Mac Miller Charged With DUI From Car Crash In May

Mac Miller is facing two counts of DUI resulting from a car accident that transpired in May, TMZ reported Tuesday (August 21).

According to the celebrity outlet, the L.A. City Attorney's Office listed charges against the Swimming rapper for driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at 0.08 or higher. Both indictments originate from a collision that caused him to be hauled off in handcuffs a few months ago for a hit and run, for which TMZ says he was not charged.

Back in May, the "Small Wounds" emcee was booked after authorities discovered his 2016 G-Wagon crashed into a utility pole in the San Fernando Valley district. The wreck was so bad that it actually caused the vehicle's airbags to deploy. However, Mac and two other passengers sustained no injuries from the event and fled the scene on foot.

After running his plates, cops confronted the 26-year-old at his home, where they administered a breathalyzer test. Results ascertained Mac blew twice the legal limit.

Mac's arrest arrived on the heels of his breakup from girlfriend of almost two years Ariana Grande, who went on to become engaged to Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson just weeks after their split. Grande, who tried seeing her boyfriend through his troubles with alcohol, later explained Mac's heavy imbibing as a component of their split.

If sentenced, the "Buttons" star faces 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
