Camila Cabello Uses Egg Whites in Her Beauty Routine

Camila Cabello is out to conquer the world. She's taken the music world by storm and now she's set her sights on the beauty industry. Camila debuted Havana, her new makeup collection created in collaboration with L'Oréal Paris. According to Elle, Camila is the brand's first global spokeswoman to collaborate on her own line of beauty products. Her Havana collection includes 14 pieces, which all retail for $15 or less, which will make it super affordable for all of Camila's diehard fans. Havana includes eye shadows, brow products, lip gloss, and L'Oréal's first liquid bronzer.

It all sounds *so* exciting and we can't wait try everything. In addition to talking to Elle all about her new venture, though, Cabello spilled on one unexpected beauty secret she swears by: egg whites. "My mom and I have this thing that we do. It sounds weird, but you crack open an egg and take out the yolk. Then, you put the egg white on your face and let it dry to close up your pores, then you wash it off," she said about her beauty secret. "Whenever I feel like my pores are getting big or I have blackheads, or when I get laugh lines or wrinkles from being dehydrated, it makes your skin tight. And, it's totally natural."

While using egg whites as a face mask might seem random AF, the practice has been around for a *very* long time. According to Beauty Munsta, egg white beauty treatments were used in Ancient civilizations such as Egypt, China and the Arabian Peninsula. The Dermatology Review reports that these natural treatments work pretty well, too. Due to the proteins present in the egg whites, this treatment can help improve skin tone an elasticity. The use of egg white masks are becoming more popular because they offer benefits "without the harsh side effects that ingredients like retinol and alpha hydroxy acids" can cause.

Since Camila is such a fan of natural beauty, it makes sense that her own makeup line's style would reflect that. "I just knew I wanted to make a makeup line that was natural," she told Elle. "If I'm not on stage or doing an award show performance, I really don't like wearing a lot of makeup. I feel like this line is really an expression of what I would wear. It's glowy and simple."

Thanks to Camila, we're all going to have perfect, glowing skin. Can't wait to try out her amazing new makeup line, as well as her all natural beauty secret. Who knew egg whites were so versatile?!
